WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Sr. Data Scientist, you will use your data science talents and analysis skills directly to help our clients generate business value via detailed analysis and modeling of customer data. Specific projects might include:

  • Developing a customized customer segmentation for our clients based on extensive analysis and modeling of customer data
  • Building a predictive customer churn model that helps identify which groups of customers appear to be at risk of lapsing, and why
  • Designing and analyzing a Bayesian time-series model to study the pattern of customer purchases over time and the impact of seasonality
  • Developing a Bayesian linear regression model to forecast the growth (or decay) of various customer segments
  • Performing exploratory data analysis of our client’s siloed customer data, and determining the best method to consolidate it into a workable data set to conduct analytics projects
  • Developing descriptive and predictive models to help evaluate “what-if” scenarios for our client’s strategic business initiatives
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • A master’s degree or beyond in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related engineering fields.
  • Advanced level programming skills in R and/or Python
  • Experience in the following analytic areas: linear/logistic regression, forecasting, statistical analysis (extra credit if you’re familiar with Bayesian techniques), supervised/unsupervised learning, descriptive and predictive modeling
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimental design
  • Ability to select appropriate analytic methods and models based on a client’s unique business problem
  • Skill with data visualization techniques both to explore data sets and to discover insights from analyses
  • Extensive experience performing exploratory data analysis on large quantities of both structured and unstructured data
  • Skill in translating complex business needs into well-posed analytical problems
  • Familiarity with at least one of the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
CONSULTING SKILLS
  • Client-facing or internal consulting experience, including presenting insights to business stakeholders
  • Comfort in translating a business problem into an agile analytics workplan
  • Impactful storyteller who can communicate complex analytic concepts and translate those to recommended actions
  • Adept at predicting stakeholder needs and designing multiple paths to a solution
EXTRA CREDIT
  • Marketing analytics and customer analytics experience
  • Marketing or business strategy development based on quantitative customer insights
  • Applying analytic insight to marketing operations (e.g., email, web, app)
  • Customer lifecycle strategies (e.g., acquisition, development, retention)
  • Market research (e.g., competitive analysis, market/sales forecasting)
