Job Listing Manager
Position Overview

At Elicit, the Data Science Manager is a dynamic position with three main areas of responsibility:

  • Client consulting & execution
  • Technical project leadership
  • Team management & mentorship

As a consultant, you are fearless in the face of big data, knowing how to harness the power of advanced analytics, data mining, and statistics to develop actionable customer insights that help our clients develop transformative customer-centric strategies. Undaunted by ambiguity, you can translate nebulous business needs into a tactical course of action, applying your analytics talents and mad data wrangling skills to create innovative solutions and generate meaningful insights from customer data. You can then transform those quantitative findings and ideas into highly relevant calls for action, effortlessly communicating your recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. You are an excellent storyteller, knowing how to make complex concepts easy to explain and understand, grounding your work in our clients’ business context. You have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, learning, and continuous improvement.

As a technical project lead, you strike a balance between being a confident thought leader and an approachable collaborator. While you are comfortable executing on projects yourself, you also know how to manage the time of others, delegating tactical details so that you can focus on big picture strategy. You are instrumental in connecting the team’s analytics efforts with our clients’ business goals, working with Elicit’s broader team of “Geeks,” “Nerds,” and “Suits” to develop resource plans, author the technical sections of our Statements Of Work, craft final deliverables, present key findings to executive stakeholders, and ensure that projects are delivered on time.

As a manager and mentor, you will come to know the strengths and weaknesses of each member of your team. You will work with them to develop professional goals based both on their long-term aspirations and Elicit’s strategic plan. By working with the Chief Scientist and Director of Data Science to assign team members appropriate, meaningful work, and by helping them reflect on the quality of that work, you will foster their professional development and strengthen Elicit’s capabilities overall. As a mentor, you will also provide thought leadership, helping advance both the client’s and Elicit’s customer science capabilities.
